Their story is a powerful reminder that God invites us all to experience His transformative work when we open our hearts.
GIO AND BRENDA'S STORY
Brenda and Giovanni share how their church community transformed their lives. After moving from Los Angeles to Modesto during a tough season, they found hope through Pastor Bob and deep friendships. Serving on the worship team and attending financial classes helped them grow stronger, become debt-free, and embrace tithing.
Now, they’re excited about the Beyond initiative, which will create space for more families to experience the same life-changing community they did.
SCOTT AND RENEE'S STORY

They share how the church’s dedication to teaching God’s Word and fostering a true sense of belonging has shaped their lives. Through growing attendance, vibrant volunteerism, and deep relationships formed in small groups, they’ve seen a community eager to serve and grow in faith. Passionate about outreach and leaving a legacy, Scott and Renee are passionate about the Beyond initiative and the vision for a new facility to better reach those seeking connection with God and others.
ZACH'S STORY
Zach’s life took a major turn in 2021 when he was arrested during the COVID pandemic and spent six weeks in county jail. While there, he was encouraged to surrender his life to Christ—a decision that changed everything. He started reading the Bible, leading prayer calls, and finding hope in his faith. After his release, he connected with Shelter Cove, fully committed his life to Christ, and was baptized. Now, he’s passionate about the power of prayer, community, and giving, believing that what Shelter Cove is doing will impact lives for generations. His story is a powerful reminder that no one is too far gone for God’s grace.
MANNY & ASHLIE'S STORY
Manny and Ashlie have been part of Shelter Cove for five years, drawn in by a welcoming community and strong children’s ministry. Their daughters love attending, and the couple has found joy in serving—Ashlie in children’s ministry and Manny in welcoming people. They cherish key moments, like their daughters’ baptisms and a message on financial stewardship that strengthened their marriage. Looking ahead, they’re excited about BEYOND and making more room to share the love of Jesus in a warm and inviting way.

MANNY & ASHLIE BARAJAS
“Shelter Cove is our church. We give from a place of obedience and trust, believing that they are good stewards of our giving. The impact it’s making in our church, surrounding cities and worldwide, is evident.”
